Our Wool Lab is Ready for Research and Production!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our long-awaited wool lab at Rio Milagro Foundation. After months of preparation and anticipation, working closely with Robert Donelly, wool expert, and collaborating with our sister organization, Three Fiber Sheep LLC, we have finally set in motion this innovative and sustainable initiative.

Our Wool Lab at Rio Milagro Foundation revolutionizes the way we approach looking at wool and sheep production. It was born from the idea to turn an unwanted, underused fibre into sustainable design with purpose, to help save the planet. We will be re-writing the story of Churro wool, and finding value again in the three fiber fleece.

The Wool Lab aims to provide a dedicated space for research and production on desert landrace species role in climate change mitigation, empowering traditional shepherds and local communities, and most importantly creating a possible economic incentive to breed and maintain the primitive genetics of the Churro sheep.

Our wool lab will also play a crucial role in supporting scientific soil research. By providing high-quality wool samples from TrueChurro™ sheep flocks, our research will allow us to conduct in-depth studies on soil composition, microbial studies, and water and temperature management. The wool lab will also serve as a hub for research and development using desert landrace species, collaborating with experts in soil, range management and sustainable agriculture to ensure the highest standards of scientific research. Our team is excited to delve into this new endeavor, with a focus on promoting a new approach to wool use and production. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact this venture will have on both the environment and the livelihoods of the individuals involved. More details on our process in the coming months as we work on prototypes and quantify our results.

With our dedication to preserving the environment and supporting innovative scientific endeavors that help solve our climate crisis, we are proud to contribute to the advancement of soil research through the valuable resources and expertise offered by our wool lab.

Stay Tuned for more details as we start our research!
