Joyce Skeet
Joyce Skeet and her husband James are the co-founders of Covenant Pathways, a 501c3 non-profit organization, Covenant Pathways, in Vanderwagon, NM.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Joyce was introduced to agriculture, Animal husbandry, and food preservation from an early age. Covenant Pathways farm, Spirit Farm, was launched in 2016 that uses only natural practices including microbiological composting, to heal the high desert southwestern soil to be a living example of how we can recover and transform our way of life and health.
They founded the Native-led educational non-profit and established Spirit Farm on the Navajo Nation as a demonstration farm focused on healing the high desert southwestern soil with the intentional use of microbiology and composting. Their goal is to reclaim traditional farming and spiritual practices and pair them with regenerative methods to achieve resiliency and food sovereignty in the local Navajo and Zuni communities. Thereby reducing the dependency on the very food system that is harming us. Joyce is passionate about healthy soil applications and focuses on growing methods that increase nutrients in foods and raising animals that heal the land and yield healthy meats.
